Before joining Voice as a Linking & Learning facilitator for Nigeria, I worked on several projects that required the use of the design-thinking approach. An approach that strongly emphasised empathy and inclusion. I got a better understanding of these concepts when I started facilitating the Linking & Learning Programme. However, my magic moment happened at a mindful inclusion workshop in November 2019, where I learned the practical definitions of empathy and inclusion. I truly got to understand the principles of Nothing About Us Without Us and Leave No One Behind. The lessons from this workshop helped me to become more mindful and also helped me become a better Linking & Learning facilitator. I went ahead to have my best year as a Linking & Learning facilitator in 2020, even in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic.
