Undisrupted Voice
The Undisrupted Voice project aims to contribute to gender equality by promoting personal economic freedoms for young women and protecting against all forms of aggression and sexism within the photography and music fields. The changes that the project seeks to see at the end include an increase in the number of young women in the photography and music field as part of paid economic activity by at least 10% from 2021 to the end of 2023. The overall goal is to have equal representation within the sector.

Talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not
While the creative industries, particularly the arts and fashion, have recently offered significant job opportunities and created safe spaces for creative expression, the available options are not uniformly dispersed and shared. As a result, our project intends to bring together and focus attention on feminist and faith-based artists, curators, authors, art critics, faith leaders, teachers, and others from diverse creative backgrounds to promote and facilitate national dialogue aimed at promoting women’s entrepreneurship in the creative sector through a focus on fashion creativity.

Faith is Freedom Project
Violence against women is a significant issue in my community. Through this project, the community will be empowered about gender equality and harmful prejudices that limit women’s rights based on religious faith. Afri-Tanzania Volunteers for Change (AVC) will execute a community awareness campaign to reach project beneficiaries to reach a targeted community and solve the barrier.

I’m Powerful Project
The project plans to have a session of seminars that bring together faith leaders, feminists and women from the target areas to have a vibrant discussion about religious freedom, GBV committed in the name of religion and for faith leaders to understand the significance of women in the economy. The project will also create art groups consisting of drummers, dancers and actors that will create performances to spread messages on women’s rights and how to prevent the exploitation and oppression of women.

Let’s Talk, I Can
Let’s Talk, I Can project aims to promote gender equality and equal economic opportunities for both indigenous women and men, as well as to promote enhancement of gender roles and standards for indigenous women and men, eliminating restricting standards. Binti Filamu Foundation, during and at the end of this project, aims to seek changes in various forms towards gender equality.

Faith and Inclusive Leadership (FIL) project aims to address gender inequality issues for women and women with disabilities in the community and promote social inclusion through inclusive leadership in Monduli District. Furthermore, the project intends to increase the participation of young women and women with disabilities in various leadership positions and build self-confidence among young women and women with disabilities.

This Youth Empowerment Initiative project aims to strengthen the ability of young women to advocate and transform gender-based violence (GBV) norms.

Elevating Citizen Voices in Government
The grant applied by Afya Pamoja to implement this project intends to use a digital patient feedback platform (in the form of SMS surveys sent via the patient’s mobile phone) to allow pregnant women to provide feedback on the quality of care they receive. In particular, they can report instances of abuse and inadequate care.

WoteSawa aims to reduce all forms of domestic worker abuse and exploitation in Tanzania through legal, social and economic empowerment and other intervention strategies. Through the implementation of this project, WoteSawa intends to establish a community that is accountable and responsible for all domestic worker-related issues.

FarmABILITY aims to contribute to the reduction of unemployment for 55 Young Mothers by creating an entrepreneurship opportunity of breeding and rearing 300 local ducks for meat and eggs in Musoma Council for 15 months.

Kijiwe Cha Kahawa: Promotion of Small Scale Women Vegetable Farmers & Vendors in Urban Area
TIBA proposes to address agricultural challenges by improving the livelihood of small-scale women vegetable farmers/vendors in urban areas through capacity strengthening for women vegetable vendors on marketing, such as selling door to door to other market strategies, such as one-stop centre a marketplace, technology educatioon to improve food production, liking the small scale women vegetable vendors with financial institutions, including government loans, and education of women (agriculture and non-farm).

Promoting Women’s Rights and Empowerment Project
Due to social and cultural norms (e.g., female genital mutilation), illiteracy, and poverty, northern Tanzanian regions, such as Arusha, which is home to the majority of the Maasai people, have experienced violence and exploitation against women. SUSTAIN held an initial consultation with the Longido District’s Community Development Officer. It was discovered that elements of gender-based violence, abuse and exploitation are still present in the district, owing primarily to the aforementioned causes. This challenge draws SUSTAIN Tanzania’s attention to the need to assist and contribute to the efforts of the government and other stakeholders in the Longido district to raise awareness, empower, and strengthen capabilities against women’s violence, abuse, and exploitation.
