Project
The Green Employment and Inclusion Project (PEVI) is a twelve (12) month initiative carried out by the Youth Association for the Environment and Civic Education (AJEEC). The action aims to strengthen the capacities of young people and vulnerable and disabled women to seize the opportunities offered by the plastic waste sector to improve their income and become active actors in protecting the environment. In total, the number of rights holders is 30, including 20 women (16 women with motor disabilities and 4 without disabilities) and 10 young men. The project’s approach is inclusive and focuses on sustainable environmental management through the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). The project focuses on the following aspects: Supporting the resilience of vulnerable and excluded youth and women through the development of decent employment opportunities and income around the collection, sorting and recycling of plastic waste; Strengthening the organizational and operational capacities of youth and women in the areas of associative business management, associative life and community leadership; Improving the living environment and environmental protection by raising awareness of the population on waste disposal and management, and practising eco-citizenship gestures.
