The Constellation
-
The Constellation is an organisation in service of a network of people who are acting locally to create a better world, aiming to build capacities of communities and organisations to develop their vision, analyse their problems, and formulate solutions, based on their own strengths and resources. Their discovery began 23 years ago with HIV/AIDS when people in Thailand, Uganda, and Brazil had begun to address this issue publicly and to recognise that it was theirs to deal with. They took ownership of their response to HIV and it became the basis of a local response that reduced the impact of the epidemic. It also led to the foundation of The Constellation in 2004.
The Constellation trains and accompanies local people through an innovative learning process called SALT-CLCP to stimulate local action, and facilitates internal and external learning and sharing of experience with a peer-to-peer strategy to exchange knowledge and open opportunities for the emergence of new knowledge.
Over almost 17 years, the organisation has trained more than3,000 local facilitators and have successfully stimulated and accompanied various groups in a journey toward development of Local Response through more than 120 partnerships.

Project
The Constellation, as the global Linking and Learning Facilitator, will support the multi-country grantees of Voice in Africa and Asia as they carry out their activities aimed at reaching an inclusive world through the emancipation of the 5 Voice rightsholder groups and through amplifying their voices. Continuing the initial efforts of Voice to link and connect these various groups, The Constellation will co-create and implement a coherent learning process where experience and good practice are shared on an equal basis across the rightsholder groups, and based on a shared vision of an inclusive world.
To carry out the task successfully, the linking and learning shall be facilitated on various levels. The Constellation will create a safe space for learning conversations between the multi-country grantees in spite of cultural, geographical, and thematic differences, facilitate identification of strengths and areas for improvement based on the themes identified by grantees and rightsholder groups, co-create capacity building processes, set up and facilitate online and offline learning events, develop and facilitate an online platform, facilitate Communities of Practice (CoP) who build joint knowledge, and ensure that rightsholders’ voice and lens come forward in publications and media expressions that are products of the learning process.
