Project
The title for this project is “Siyasar Mata, Hanyar Cigaban Al’uma” (in Hausa) which means Women’s Political Participation for Inclusive Development. The project aims to make social inclusion and the promotion of women’s leadership a reality.
In anticipation of local, legislative and presidential elections, the project stimulates dynamic community mobilisation at the grassroots level aimed at recognising and creating the conditions for the exercise of women’s civic rights in general and their political rights in particular.
This strengthens women’s leadership on the one hand and that of opinion leaders as strategic allies, especially men, on the other, in order to strengthen their gender awareness for more successful development. Indeed, this project creates a critical mass for change in favour of a better representation of women in decision-making bodies at household, community, local and national levels.
