Project
The project Youth for Citizenship PECiDN aims at strengthening the capacities of local youth and women organisations to increase their participation in decision-making processes. Implemented in five communal districts of Niamey, and the city of Tahoua, involving 5 grassroots organisations through youth councils, all of which are responsible for supervising, training and accompanying young people in their actions to defend their rights and participate in local decision-making bodies.
Working towards an ideal where young people and women, both urban and rural, become active actors of change so that their voices are heard and recognised in ALL communal spheres. The project aims to establish mechanisms and strategies for sustainable democratic dialogue, a better understanding of the rights and duties of citizens, and a better citizen culture that allows for participation in development at grassroots level.
