The Association Women Leadership and Sustainable Development (AFLED) was created in 2010 to develop the leadership of young women and girls. Since December 30, 2016 it has obtained its NGO status with the Framework Agreement (001409) with the State. The members of AFLED are convinced that in order to develop Mali, men and women must combine their efforts. The particularity of AFLED lies in the youth of its members and also in the fact that its activities are aimed at young women under the age of 35. This age group constitutes more than half of the population, yet they are poorly represented in public life. AFLED strives to ensure that the promotion of women’s rights and women’s development activities are assimilated from a young age. AFLED is committed to sustainable development, climate justice and building women’s resilience. AFLED has offices in Bamako, Segou and Mopt.
