NGO Bal’lame is a local organisation in Niger aiming to contribute to the cultural, social and economic development of the Nigerien people.

Specifically, the organisation focuses on:

• Fighting against gender inequality;
• Promoting youth rights;
• Fighting against the food crisis by means of free distribution of foods, the recovery of arable land, the construction of wells and the arrangement of cultural spaces;
• Girls’ education through the allocation of scholarships, the construction and the rehabilitation of classrooms as well as their equipment;
• Health through the construction of treatment rooms, the construction of latrines, support of care centers in generic medicines, sensitisation of the populations on certain questions of hygiene and health;
• Environment through the fight against desertification and pollutions.

Bal’lame NGO is authorised to exercise its activities on the whole territory of the Republic of Niger.

The project titled Mayahi Youth political participation project strengthens the political commitment of young people through education and raising awareness on their electoral rights and the electoral process in eight municipalities. They do this by organising so-called educational talks to increase people’s knowledge and rights.

This includes round table discussions between young people and political leaders, traditional and religious leaders, members of civil society and local administrative leaders to ensure that their electoral rights are respected.
