    The Coalition of African Alternatives Debt and Development (CAD-Mali) is a social movement of counter-power, opposition to neoliberal policies and popular alternatives. Its Malian status was approved by the Government of Mali in 2001. The Organisation has one hundred and three (103) member organisations made up of smallholder associations and organisations, women, young people, traditional healers, economic operators, Non-government Organisations (NGOs), trade unions, Muslim and Christian religious denominations and several individuals committed to peoples causes.

    The mission of CAD Mali is to promote political awareness through capacity building among the activists in the struggle against unfair mechanisms, rules and laws through actions of popular citizen education, protest and proposals for alternatives at the local, national, sub-regional and international levels.

      The Coalition Pour Alternative Africaine project contributes to the development of favourable working conditions for the promotion of human rights by advocating for decent work between producers, wage earners and agricultural apprentices for increased agricultural production in Peri-urban and rural areas of Bamako, Koulikoro and Ségou.

      Agricultural wage earners and apprentices are empowered to advance their socio-economic conditions through the facilitation of consultation frameworks, lobbying actions, advocacy, influencing political dialogue for local elected representatives, members of the Commissions: rural development and the environment; labour and employment, finance, Human Rights National Assembly and the Ministries of Agriculture, Social Development and Humanitarian Action.

      The project influences decision-makers and farmers to engage and apply International Labour Organisation-related laws as well as laws aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of wage earners, agricultural apprentices and their families.
