Our stories. Our reality. Uganda
By: Wendy Otieno, Communications Assistant
Each Voice country team has a wonderful set of partners from the various rightsholders groups focusing on the three thematic areas all working towards diversity and inclusion.
We are excited to share with you these publications created by Voice Uganda highlighting the various stories, achievements, challenges, and approaches that the partners experienced during the 2018/2019 financial year. The team also published a detailed newsletter that reflects the year.
In the first booklet we see how community radio is helping to sensitise women on their lands rights, a community project supporting girls to remain in school, a project focusing on the empowerment of persons with disabilities to gain meaningful employment…..the stories are endless.

Have you ever thought about using community participatory theater to create awareness or advocate for inclusion? What about how to use village savings and loan associations to economically empower women?
As a second output, the team came together and showcased how different methodologies, tools, and systems were bringing rightsholders together. This document is a deep dive to show how linking and learning amongst partners is slowly turning into a lived everyday reality as they are coming to their voice.
Find out how these approaches amongst many more are creating positive change in Uganda here .
Finally and not least, we would like to share with you the first Newsletter profiling the achievements, lessons learned and aspirations of Ugandan grantees showcasing some of the personal experiences of several rightsholders.
