Thena Posysenthong
Linking, Learning, and Amplifier Officer, Voice in Laos, Oxfam in Laos
Thena holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from the National University of Laos. He has been volunteering in the areas of social development and education since he was a university student and a member of the LAC Toastmaster Club. He was also a part of the Youth Solidarity Peacebuilding Program under the Mennonite Central Committee in Laos and a facilitator at the English Café in Vientiane, helping support Lao people to practice their English-speaking skills. He was also a part of the LGBTQ equality group and Bear Bear III – ADRF, among others. With his passion to study more about the diversity, he participated in some programs where he met and learned about more about different contexts of people from different walks of life. These programmes are: YSEALI Academic Fall 2021, School of Peace 2018, JENESYS 2017, and the Lancang-Mekong University Students Friendly Exchange Week 2016. One key realization he gained was that where there are humans, there is conflict. But he also believes in non-violent approaches solving root causes of these conflicts through peaceful approaches. He joins the Voice Team as Linking, Learning and Amplification Officer with the ambition to listen to the rightsholders and to amplify their stories to the world.
