Leading in Crisis
Partnering for Healing to Commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia
International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOT) is commemorated annually on 17 May by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) persons and their allies in over 130 countries. This year, we are all celebrating IDAHOT at a time when the world is facing a pandemic and unfortunately, COVID-19 is having an even bigger impact on vulnerable communities including LGBTI persons.
To commemorate IDAHOT, Sullivan Reed Society is partnering with the Australian High Commission, Canadian High Commission, Netherlands Embassy, Hivos East Africa, and Voice to host two virtual IDAHOT celebrations on the 17 and 20 May 2021 under the global theme, Together: Resisting, Supporting, Healing!
Join us on the 17 May 2021, for a webinar discussion as we host over 50 LGBT movement leaders to reflect and discuss, ‘leadership in a time of crisis’, highlight the lessons learned, and best practices and on the 20 May 2021, for a ‘celebratory event’ that will bring together over 100 LGBTI community members and allies to share personal stories and experiences and to enjoy good music and entertainment.
