    • Project

The project Humanisation des blanchies de la lèpre / Humanisation of Leprosy Patients focuses on promoting the inclusion of leprosy patients in society through their empowerment in the province of Segou.

It will provide an opportunity for older women who have been cured from leprosy to express themselves freely, to make their voices heard and to claim their civic participation in order to fight against the marginalisation and exclusion they face. The project will enable older women cured from leprosy to gain confidence, develop leadership skills and deconstruct the myths and superstitions surrounding leprosy. Debates through social media and other playful and expressive approaches (theatre, writing personal stories, sharing experiences, testimonies) will be developed by the project.
