    SILAKA was incorporated as a non-political, non-sectarian local Cambodian NGO in January 1997 registered with the Ministry of Interior. SILAKA works to identify and provide quality programs and training opportunities for individuals and organizations. Asa leading capacity building organization, SILAKA#s offers unsurpassed service and delivery of high quality training and consultant services. SILAKA has the development goal to promote the implementation of democracy in Cambodian society for sustainable development which includes the economic development, including caring for the environment, and social justice.

    SILAKA is the host organization for an informal group called Love Is Diversity (LID), the movement and activist to advocate for equal rights protection for LGBTQI community in Cambodia. Love Is Diversity has a vision to see Cambodian LGBTIQ citizens receiving full and equal respect, acceptance and protection from all sectors of society, most especially families, schools, communities and authorities as well as make decision within equal conditions.

      This project aims to enhance and raise awareness on SOGIESC specifically on Cambodian Lesbian Bi-sexual and Transgender (LBT) issues and promote community acceptance. Its intend to enhance, raise awareness and advocacy activities through media platforms such as storytelling, podcast video, Facebook Live, online campaign, online sharing session on SOGIESC and LGBTIQ+ and radio talk show as well. Another main activity is to create a space for LBT+ women for counselling, mental health support, building networks and their capacities. Last but not least, the internal capacity development core members of Love Is Diversity team through training/sharing sessions in monthly meeting and learning by doing through implementing this project. This 12 months project is mostly focus on online activities which is planned to create more online dialogue about SOGIESC and LGBTIQ issues/community, produce more advocacy materials, and reach out directly to LGBTIQ audience and outside LGBTIQ community as well. Art competition, storytelling video, podcast series video about SOGIESC/LGBTIQ+, Facebook Live show, Monthly Quiz and Radio programme are the key main activities that is planned under this project.

      Specific objectives:

      1. To enhance, raise awareness and advocacy activities through media platforms such as storytelling, podcast video, Facebook Live, online campaign, online sharing session on SOGIESC and LGBTIQ+ and radio talk show as well.
      2. To empower and capacity building 15 LBTIQ women through training, join LoveIsDiversity activities, sharing own experiences in a safe space, reflection session and support each other when needed. They will be able to live their own life with confident and able to support other LBTIQ women.
      3. Internal capacity development core members of LoveIsDiversity team through training/sharing sessions in monthly meeting and learning by doing through implementing this project.
