Project
The exclusion of indigenous women in decision-making spaces results in the denial of the womens’ and communities real needs. The project seeks to strengthen the inclusion of indigenous women in county participatory budgeting and political process and enhance their voice and actions in demanding respect of their rights, particularly the right to participation and representation within the political process that is respectful of their gender identity. FoLT hopes to see a collaborative environment where indigenous women feel comfortable engaging in public spaces resulting in their increased participation in organising around budgeting, local assemblies, political engagements, and collectively holding to account, increased participation of young indigenous women in decision making spaces and political parties and a better understanding of gender-based budgeting, especially by the women, county executive, and assembly.
