    VivNcaug (Sisterhood for Development) is a non-profit group that supports the well-being of women and girls to reach their full potential, break the cycle of poverty and raise their status in society. Their vision is to achieve an equitable world where ethnic women and girls have equal access to essential opportunities and resources to empower themselves and shape society.

    Their mission is to support the spiritual, emotional, social, physical, economic well-being of women and girls to reach their educational goals and full potential in order to break the cycle of poverty and raise their status in society. Goal: Build a community of socially aware and economically empowered women working together to narrow the socio-economic gaps.

    • Project

      Empowering Ethnic Women and Girls project is a transition project of VivNcaug (Sisterhood for Development) titled ‘Empowerment of ethnic women and girls’. The project develops from a core group consisting of 10-15 ethnic girls and men who were actively involved in last year’s programme. The project specifically involves:

      • Expanding from last year to reach the students who have priorities outside the province and were not able to attend the trainings and consultations face to face.
      • Creating better access by making an online platform using Facebook, YouTube, and Messenger.
      • Creating good quality training videos of teachers speaking directly to the camera, live audience, and evaluation videos.
      • Establishing Facebook pages with all the materials from the curriculum including videos of the trainings and other informative summaries of the course. The students can also talk to each other to exchange ideas or concerns. The posts of previous students sharing their past experiences, stories, organisation experience are shared.
      • Providing YouTube videos and organising them in playlists according to the courses. The students are trained on commenting on the videos as a reflection of their learning and also to count attendance in order to maximize reach.
      • Actively use Messenger to provide opportunities to ask the teachers questions directly.
