The bigger picture and journey

Five Years of Dialogue & Dissent and Voice

In January 2016, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign affairs started the five-year Dialogue & Dissent policy framework (2016-2021), involving 25 strategic partnerships and three funds -including Voice- working in over 60 countries with a clear purpose{ to strengthen the voices of civil society to first of all dialogue – but also dissent where needed.

To celebrate successes and capture the richness and diversity of Dialogue & Dissent, the Ministry has launched the Dialogue & Dissent e-magazine  bringing together efforts, results, challenges and lessons learnt of all the programs involved under Dialogue & Dissent.

Here is the Dialogue and Dissent E-magazine that you can view online, just like a book.

In line with the partnership mantra, this document has been a shared effort: It not only shares stories of change and perspectives of partner organisations, but it also contains a powerful message from the Director-General International Cooperation, Kitty van der Heijden, who sheds light on the role of civil society in international development and underlines that its relevance further increased due to the restrictive trends curtailing civic space.
