Gollobé is an association of young girl leaders in the department of Torodi. The association was created in January 2018 thanks to the initiative of the NGO Cercle Dev to develop a community approach to the participation of young girls in developing their community by developing their leadership. We have organized several activities to sensitize the youth on peace, drug use and citizenship issues. On the sidelines of each new school year, we organized several caravans on the schooling of the young girl, keeping the girl in school, and forced and early marriage, which are the reasons put forward by many parents to put an end to their children’s education. As a citizen action; we held several sessions of salubrities in the town hall; the prefecture; the CSI, and the city of Torodi. We have also organized a sanitation campaign, the last of which was supported by the local authorities. This is the zero plastic waste campaign in the city of Torodi. An initiative that has mobilized a large part of the population and youth associations that were not interested in environmental protection. The association is involved in several workshops in the department. We had to mobilize the authorities, the decision-makers, and the actors of the civil society in our activities, allowing us to promote several keys of Torodi.

It is a project that aims to empower and valorise women. The project will be implemented by the association of Young Girls Leaders Gollobe of Torodi over 12 months; the town of Torodi and 03 villages will be targeted in partnership with the local authorities and technical services of the said town Torodi; for a total of 400 direct beneficiaries.

The project encourages the participation of women in development actions and the empowerment of young girls and women with disabilities. Indeed, women are often marginalized in rural areas. The activities of the girl leaders will give a voice to women who are discriminated against in terms of land management and sharing. The women leaders of the department will be put in contributions to launch advocacy at the level of the communal authorities.
