  • Organisation

The fund for development of marginalised women in Saravan province is a non-profit organisation that started with a small group of women who informally became members of the fund in 2006. The Fund for development of marginalised women then became officially established on August 17, 2009, and was approved under the Saravan provincial Women’s Union license.

The fund contributes to the improvement of livelihoods of marginalised multi-ethnic women in Saravan province. To achieve its objective, the Organisation concentrates on village women’s funds and looks for funding sources to implement women’s development projects in the province, particularly in the three poor districts of Ta-Oy, Samuay, and Tomlan.

In the beginning, the main aim of the fund was to assist one another, particularly group members who encountered difficulty in their lives such as falling sick or victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, as well as those who faced financial difficulty. Three years after its establishment, its objective has changed. The women’s group not only uses the fund to assist one another in times of difficulty but to also strengthen their own capacity through savings funds and credit.
