Siaya Muungano Network is a youth led women rights and youth development organisation working as a community based organisation and was registered on 12th July 2013 under the laws of Kenya in the department of social services. The foundation of the organization was motivated by patriarchal issues which were affecting young women and challenges the youth faced in general in Siaya County. The organisation endeavors to provide mentorship platforms that appeal to the consciousness of the adolescents Girls, youths and young women with an attempt to reshape their mindsets and attitude for responsible engagement.

Project
To increase the widows bargaining power to challenge inequalities and the human rights violations they undergo in our community.
Project Outcomes
1.Increased financial literacy of 50 widows to save and start small businesses to support their households
2.Increased access to decent jobs for the targeted 50 widows in Siaya
3.Increased households economic strengthening for the 50 targeted widows in Siaya
4.Increased agency for the widows to fight for their rights and claim their properties at the community level
5.Increased community referral pathways for widow victims of human rights violations in Siaya.
Proposed Solutions
1. Project community inception meeting: will involve bringing community actors together to orient them on the project for goodwill and sustainability
2.Mapping 50 widows: the organisation will identify 50 widows to be supported directly by the project
3.Widows power analysis sessions: this involve sessions to listen to their diverse challenges around economic empowerment and rights violations to develop referral pathways
4.Training 50 widows on savings and transformation; this is aimed at enrolling them into grass root saving schemes to increase access to credit for their business, health care, children education and food security
