Femmes et Droits Humains (FDH) Women and Human Rights, is a feminist organisation created in 2001. For over fifteen years, the organisation works since its inception on gender issues, gender equality and human rights of women and girls, women defenders. The programmes are run by women with the assistance of a legal and judicial unit. It has formed, created and strengthened alliances with state actors, stakeholders in target communities and the media.

It is a women and feminist organisation, initiated by women, targeting women and girls and working in the field of promotion and protection of women’s rights. 97% of the organisation’s members are women and women hold 99% of the decision-making positions. Furthermore, the organisation has coordinated the establishment of the Mali Feminist Forum and serves as its coordinator.

The project aims to improve the civic participation of young feminist leaders and their equal access to knowledge, information and learning.

Women’s civil, political and socio-economic rights will be achieved in the project intervention areas and the citizens (feminist girl leaders) will fulfil their duties towards the state and their community.

The socio-political-economic governance system will give a more prominent voice, especially to girl feminist leaders and other vulnerable groups and will function fairly for the benefit of the latter. The project’s approach is based on the facilitation of a platform that will serve as a space for informing, sensitising and denouncing violations, in combination with influencing and building capacity through mentoring and coaching of women leaders.
