KHIWE was established in 2017 and this initiative arose out of the rampant numbers of women who would come to the hospital seeking medical attention as a result of diseases and injuries sustained in their line of work. Such people included women under gender-based violence, survivors of rape and assauilt, marginalised LGBTQIA+.
