  • Results

” I have the burden of living as a mentally ill person in a world that’s still grappling to understand what mental illness really looks like. I’m grateful to Tinada Youth Organisation for supporting mental health education and empowerment through their program with Voice. They educated me and do frequent follow-ups on how I’m doing. They also referred me to mental health screening and treatment”, Monica Guya

As a result of the project, Tinada has seen improved knowledge on Mental Health by the public, caregivers, patients and families thus reducing stigma and discrimination among persons living with Mental Health illnesses. County Health Department, CSOs and county assembly representatives of Kakamega, Vihiga, Kisumu and Bungoma have formed county mental health committees. They have also installed county mental health coordinator to improve mental health service delivery, established Rehabilitation Centers and support community mental health program.
