    WoteSawa is a non-governmental organisation based in Mwanza, Tanzania with a branch in Kasulu, Kigoma region.

    WoteSawa organisation which means ‘all are equal’ in Swahili, has evolved into an established and unique forum in which child domestic workers are represented and can address their interests and rights as one of the most vulnerable groups to abuse and exploitation in Tanzania. WoteSawa also acts as a bridge between child domestic workers, government leadership, employers and law enforcers in advancing the interests of child domestic workers.

    The overall goal of the organisation is to contribute to the reduction of all forms of abuse and exploitation against Child Domestic Workers in Tanzania through legal, economic empowerment and other intervention strategies.

      WoteSawa aims to reduce all forms of domestic worker abuse and exploitation in Tanzania through legal, social and economic empowerment and other intervention strategies. Through the implementation of this project, WoteSawa intends to establish a community that is accountable and responsible for all domestic worker-related issues. This will be achieved through advocacy, community awareness, and social and economic empowerment. This project aims to establish a powerful network or movement for rightsholder organisations, in line with the national agenda of advocating for the rights of domestic workers and formalising their status. To achieve the formalisation objective, the network will work to ratify Internation Labor Organization Convention 189. Through this project, WoteSawa will equip rightsholders organisation with leadership skills, advocacy skills, networking skills, funding strategies, strategic planning, skilled labour recruitment and confidence to advocate for decent working conditions for domestic workers more effectively.
