    Phare Ponleu Selpak is a non- profit Cambodian association that works with vulnerable children and young adults through three fields of intervention: art training, social support, and educational programs.
    Vision: Phare Ponleu Selpak believes passionately in thepower of the arts as a tool for human
    development and social change.
    Mission: Phare Ponleu Selpak is dedicated to providing a nurturing and creative environment where young people can access quality arts training, education and social support, serving as a vital creative resource for the community.
    Values: Phare Ponleu Selpak values creativity, professionalism, collaboration and accessibilityin all its projects.
    Phare Ponleu Selpak Association provides the accessibilities to young people from the local community to arts education for their future employment opportunities in culture and arts industry through its four main schools and programs: Education, Performing Arts Schools, Visual and Applied Arts School, and Social Support.
    Education: since 2013, the Education department consists of two education programs: formal education known as community Kindergarten and informal education has three sub-programs namely child development centre, library and tutoring.
    PerformingArts School (PAS): The Performing Arts School offers performing arts education to students and community children aged between 7 and 18 years-old with specific focus onchildren from disadvantaged background. PAS offers four arts discipline circus, theater, music and dance.
    Visual and Applied ArtsSchool (VAAS): The Visual and Applied Arts School provides artistic
    vocational in three level Leisure, prepatory and professional training such as graphic design, animation andvisual arts.
    Social Support Program: The Social Support Department is dedicated to improving the standard of living for local children and their families. The department works through its two main
    programs Child Protection Program and Sponsorship Program.

    • Project

      The main purpose of this project is to create a strong community of Khmer LGBTQIA+ people working together to fight for the rights of the community. They were working together as an informal group for more than a year on a documentary, networking, build a stronger community, and a proposal that will allow them an opportunity to create a safe space for the LGBT+ community in Battambang, Cambodia. This project intend to promote the visibility and rights of the LGBT+ community in Battambang provinces and create a safe space for their community with sustainable and independent. In order to achieve this objectives, the exploring and forming of new members,capacity building on SOGIESC, project management, networking with NGOs, university and relevant authorities will be conducted. Creative art and media campaign will be used to express the challenges of the community, as well as to empower their groups to express “who they are?”. Many creative approaches for raising awareness to promote the positive image andthe true about LGBTQI community are part of the project workplan including promote positive stories on LGBTQI, animation to educate, stories telling, fashion show, art exhibition and video screening on the fact about LGBTQI.
      Goal: To create a strong community, a safe space of Khmer LGBTQIA+ people that working together to fight for the rights of their community.

      Expect result 1: Forming and capacity building on SOGIESC to the LGBTQI community members.
      Expect result 2: Raising awareness campaign to promote the positive visibility about LGBTQI community.
      Expect result 3: Creative art and media campaign with education materials to share the truth about LGBTQI community.

      This 12 months project is expected to work with in Battambang provinces with focus on LGBTQI community and people in public on the truth about LGBTQI people.
