Jura is a multilingual communications professional who has honed his skills as a producer and director for seven years, working in various African countries. He is immensely moved by stories that have an impact at a local level, and that resonate with audiences at the global level. He is keen to test ideas and bring on board unheard voices into meaningful conversations that are devoid of discrimination and uphold human rights.
Jura has worked with notable inter-governmental organisations such as the UNDP, UNESCO, International Aids Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights – West African Regional Office and Plan International. In addition he has worked for corporate companies in East Africa, like the Standard Media Group, Securex East Africa Limited among a host of others, to aid effective and efficient communications. All these he has done in fluent English, French, and Swahili.
He worked as part of the Voice Linking and Learning facilitation team for Kenya and Tanzania. Here, he brought together creative and innovative ideas that enriched the capacities of different Voice partners and grantees before joining the Coordination team as the Voice Amplifier Officer – External in October 2020. In this role he is responsible for all social media channels plus to advance on the overall strategy and French engagement.
He holds a degree in linguistics, media and communication, and mastery in people interaction at the grassroots level.
