Tribe XX Lab is a social enterprise working to help women-led enterprises scale up in 3 ways:

    1) Financial Inclusion: Ensuring women have more access to workshops,
accelerators, and training to provide them with the knowledge and skill
they need to reach economic independence and to help close the persistent gender gap in financial inclusion.

    2) Support and connection: Prioritising self-help women-focused groups as critical platforms for bringing women together and building up their collective knowledge, economic power, and voice.

3)Opportunity: Connecting women to new market opportunities to increase their profits and income as well as networks with influence and gather data on women in Nigeria to create targeted solutions to issues women face especially around gender equality, economic empowerment and education.

As the first co-working, wellness and incubator space exclusively for female-led ventures in Nigeria. Tribe XX Lab offers affordable, flexible micro leases to women as a way to address discriminatory practices of landlords who insist that women must have a male chaperon in order to rent a space- especially single women; and also require the full rent for the year upfront. Most Nigerians, especially women are unable to afford this.

Tribe XX Lab works on capacity building for women which in turn leads to economic growth and the ability to employ others. They are laser-focused on helping women achieve a brighter future, and they hope to do this until the UN Sustainable Development goal of ending gender inequality is met.

    • Project

Early 2020, the BBC released a documentary highlighting the systemic and rampant sexual abuse and violence meted out to women and the youth in universities in Nigeria. Despite the naming and presentation of hard evidence of the misconduct by several high ranking professors at some universities, no disciplinary action had been taken against them and they continued to work. There is a need to highlight the voices of victims of this abuse as well as enlighten the public on the magnitude of the problem while dismantling the shroud of silence that enables perpetrators to continue their acts of oppression without consequence.

The project I Go Talkooh! is an empowerment and social justice movement that educates women and youth about their rights and organizes direct action and protests to force policy change at the institutional level.

The project has a two-pronged focus.

      1. Giving survivors of sexual harassment, assault and misconduct in Nigerian institutions of higher learning, including those seeking admission, a voice to name the perpetrators and to share their stories. The goal is to advance the rights of survivors of sexual misconduct in this group through collective advocacy and influencing at the institutional level. This ensures perpetrators of sexual misconduct are punished and the survivors are protected from retaliation.

      2. The second prong is to create awareness of the magnitude of sexual violence at universities as well as lead and influence public perceptions of women and survivors of sexual misconduct. This will be done using the power of social media as well as physical meetings to support and take action.
