Va Seng, est un jeune homme appartenant \u00e0 une minorit\u00e9 ethnique. Originaire de Luang Prabang, il a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 \u00e0 Vientiane pour poursuivre des \u00e9tudes en m\u00e9dias. Il est arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 Vientiane avec une passion pour la communication et les m\u00e9dias, mais ayant grandi \u00e0 la campagne, la photographie \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s nouvelle pour lui. Malgr\u00e9 cela, il a reconnu qu\u2019il s\u2019agissait d\u2019une tendance populaire parmi les jeunes et il s\u2019y est montr\u00e9 enthousiasm\u00e9. Ce n\u2019\u00e9tait pas la seule chose qui le surprenait. Lorsqu’il doit vivre dans le m\u00eame foyer d’accueil avec un groupe de jeunes d’origines ethniques diff\u00e9rentes, qui parlent des dialectes et des langues diff\u00e9rents, qui pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent manger des aliments diff\u00e9rents et s’habiller diff\u00e9remment, il subit un \u00e9norme choc culturel.<\/p>\r\n

En 2019, Va Seng s’\u00e9tait inscrite \u00e0 un programme de stage avec l’Agence de D\u00e9veloppement Rural x Mind Media appel\u00e9 \u00ab Projet InYouth* \u00bb, financ\u00e9 par la subvention Voice Innovate and Learn. Il est l\u2019un des 18 stagiaires qui ont contribu\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement de \u00ab House the Series \u00bb, un drame de divertissement \u00e9ducatif sur les LGBTQI et la sant\u00e9 sexuelle. L\u2019exp\u00e9rience loin de chez lui lui a offert une opportunit\u00e9 \u00e9poustouflante de se connecter et d\u2019apprendre de ses pairs, ainsi que d\u2019\u00e9tablir des relations et de comprendre les choses sous un angle totalement nouveau. Avec d’autres jeunes, ils ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 un environnement s\u00fbr dans lequel ils pouvaient partager librement sans craindre d’\u00eatre jug\u00e9s. Il a d\u00e9couvert qu\u2019\u00eatre dans un environnement respectueux et bienveillant favorise la croissance et le d\u00e9veloppement. Des pairs qui le soutenaient lui ont procur\u00e9 un sentiment d’appartenance o\u00f9 sa voix a \u00e9t\u00e9 entendue, ses id\u00e9es et ses opinions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 prises en compte et, par cons\u00e9quent, il a \u00e9norm\u00e9ment grandi. Il est progressivement devenu plus confiant qu\u2019au premier jour du programme. En cons\u00e9quence, il a fait des progr\u00e8s significatifs.<\/p>\r\n

Le programme lui a non seulement permis de mettre en pratique ses comp\u00e9tences en cin\u00e9ma, mais lui a \u00e9galement donn\u00e9 l’occasion d’acqu\u00e9rir de nouvelles comp\u00e9tences, telles que l’\u00e9criture de sc\u00e9narios, l’arpentage de lieux et les comp\u00e9tences d’atelier de conception en tant qu’animation et contenu cr\u00e9atif.<\/p>\r\n

Son engagement dans le programme lui a non seulement donn\u00e9 l’occasion de forger de nouveaux partenariats et alliances qui lui ont ouvert de nouvelles fronti\u00e8res, mais il a \u00e9galement acquis des connaissances en mati\u00e8re de d\u00e9fense des droits des femmes, ce qui \u00e9tait l’objectif principal de tous les jeunes laotiens dans le cadre de cette subvention Innover et apprendre. Il a acquis une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de soft skills et de hard skills qui lui ont permis de remporter une petite bourse de STELLA** pour le projet Kup Ban Kun (Rentrons \u00e0 la maison).<\/p>\r\n

Va Seng a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 un jour dans la vid\u00e9o World’s Youth Skill 2020 qu’il venait d’une ville o\u00f9 la majorit\u00e9 des habitants sont pauvres, cultivent pour gagner leur vie et o\u00f9 les familles n’ont pas les moyens d’envoyer leurs enfants dans une bonne \u00e9cole. Ils n’ont pas la possibilit\u00e9 d’am\u00e9liorer leurs comp\u00e9tences et il applique donc les connaissances acquises gr\u00e2ce au projet InYouth dans un projet local dans sa ville natale de Luang Prabang. Il s’est \u00e9galement lanc\u00e9 dans un programme visant \u00e0 enseigner l’anglais aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves du primaire tout en utilisant les comp\u00e9tences cin\u00e9matographiques qu’il a acquises gr\u00e2ce au projet InYouth pour capter l’enthousiasme des enfants pour l’apprentissage afin de d\u00e9montrer \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 que les enfants ont envie d’apprendre et qu’ils m\u00e9ritent l’\u00e9galit\u00e9. opportunit\u00e9s et acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9ducation.<\/p>\r\n

Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un changement important pour un jeune gar\u00e7on ethnique qui souhaitait simplement terminer ses \u00e9tudes et rentrer chez lui dans l\u2019espoir de trouver un bon emploi et de faire une diff\u00e9rence dans sa propre vie. Ce qu’il fait \u00e0 Va Seng d\u00e9passe ce qu’il avait esp\u00e9r\u00e9. Une fois le projet achev\u00e9 en janvier 2021, lui et trois autres pairs ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de former le \u00ab InYouth Media Production Group \u00bb pour continuer \u00e0 soutenir les m\u00e9dias, en particulier dans les domaines de d\u00e9veloppement, et pour observer et participer activement aux changements positifs de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\r\n

En novembre 2021, Va Seng accompagn\u00e9 de son mentor, Mlle Chanthalangsy, directrice de l’Agence de d\u00e9veloppement rural, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9s \u00e0 une s\u00e9ance d’information sur la subvention Innovate and Learn pour partager les apprentissages de Va Seng et son parcours depuis qu’il a re\u00e7u la subvention Voice. En tant que fier d\u00e9tenteur de droits, il a expliqu\u00e9 que ces exp\u00e9riences \u00e9taient inestimables et constituaient en fait une \u00e9tape qui a chang\u00e9 sa vie, bien plus que ce \u00e0 quoi il s’\u00e9tait attendu.<\/p>\r\n

Van Seng esp\u00e8re et souhaite que les jeunes puissent d\u00e9couvrir ce qu\u2019ils aiment faire, en tirer des le\u00e7ons et partager ce qu\u2019ils ont appris avec la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 afin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer les moyens de subsistance de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\r\n
