Je m’appelle Wanjengu Mike de l’organisation de jeunesse de Tinada. \u00c0 Tinada, j’occupe le poste de coordinateur de programme. Tinada a eu le privil\u00e8ge d’\u00eatre subventionn\u00e9 par Voice au cours de l’ann\u00e9e 2018 \u00e0 2019. Le projet portait sur la sensibilisation \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 mentale. Mon moment est survenu pendant la journ\u00e9e mondiale de sensibilisation \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 mentale qui s’est tenue dans le comt\u00e9 de Vihiga. Dans le comt\u00e9 de Vihiga, il y a de nombreux cas de maladies mentales parmi les gens, en particulier les jeunes, mais beaucoup de gens n’avaient pas les bonnes informations sur la sant\u00e9 mentale. La plupart d’entre eux l’attribuaient \u00e0 de tr\u00e8s nombreux mythes et id\u00e9es fausses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons sensibilis\u00e9 les habitants du comt\u00e9 de Vihiga, qui sont venus en nombre pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer la Journ\u00e9e mondiale de la sant\u00e9 mentale, ce qui a permis \u00e0 un plus grand nombre de personnes d’\u00eatre sensibilis\u00e9es aux probl\u00e8mes de la sant\u00e9 mentale et de savoir o\u00f9 acc\u00e9der aux soins de sant\u00e9 mentale. Cela a eu un impact sur la communaut\u00e9, car d’environ 30 patients par mois dans l’unit\u00e9 psychiatrique du comt\u00e9 de Vihiga, nous avons vu une augmentation \u00e0 environ 300 patients dans le comt\u00e9 de Vihiga. Pour moi, c’\u00e9tait mon moment fort pendant cette p\u00e9riode. C’\u00e9tait mon moment parce que les gens sont sortis pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer la journ\u00e9e mondiale de la sant\u00e9 mentale. Une journ\u00e9e qui, normalement, serait oubli\u00e9e et non c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e ou comm\u00e9mor\u00e9e. Mais maintenant, m\u00eame la communaut\u00e9 reconna\u00eet cette journ\u00e9e et, par<\/p>\n\n\n\n
